I’ve been busy over the past month with 6 different photo shoots booked in for a group of little 5 and 6 year olds. All of them were a joy to work with and so cute and gorgeous! I had a lot of fun working with these “top models” and learnt lots whilst doing the shoots. I think we may see some future NZ top models here! You pulled off some great poses. 🙂 Thank you each and every one of you (and your families) who participated in this project of mine. I have now created and printed a calendar with these shots and am thrilled with how it has come out. Please contact me if you would like to view or purchase a calendar.

Cute Little Girls
Little 5 year old girls are very cute and adorable to do a photo shoot with. Living in a household of boys it is always a joy to have a bit of girly time. I would love to create a cute little girls calendar. This little girl was a joy to work with and she has a lovely personality to match that red hair! Her bed is right up against the window, so I just used the natural window light only to do this shoot with her.

Photography Night Classes
In addition to my NZIBS course, I have also enjoyed a smaller night class on photography. This course included 3 separate field trips to shoot Landscapes, Portraits and Night Shoots:
Field trip out to Pauatahanui & Battle Hill Farm to shoot landscape…
We had a lovely morning firstly wandering around the Pauatahanui settlement shooting a few photos here before driving on up the Paekakariki Hill Road to “Battle Hill Farm” where we were able to continue wandering and shooting more photos. Battle Hill Farm is a working farm but open to the public to enjoy. It has so many photo opportunities out there from landscapes to farm animals to plants and trees and streams.

Field trip to Botanical Gardens to shoot Portraits…
Learning how to use reflectors and lighting. We used each other as models. I was shooting this lovely German lady on my course. Another lady took these shots of me.

A night shoot around Oriental Parade & Courtenay Place on a Saturday night…
It wasn’t the best night to be out and about trying to shoot as the weather did a typical Wellington turn around on us and the winds got up and it decided to start drizzling. We all came armed with tripods but it still proved difficult trying to get those night lights focussed. I’d like to get out again on another night shoot to practice what we learnt. It was a fun & interesting night all the same.
